The NBA regular season continues with the SUNS losing 107-96 to the Lakers. After the game, SUNS coach Monty Budenholzer spoke to the media and commented on the game.
On the topic of Booker’s lower shooting percentage in the second half of the game, Budenholzer said Booker has been organizing the offence and creating opportunities for the team. He said: “I thought he got into some positions and created some good chances for us. I would say Booker is passing the ball, and without looking at the tape, I would say I’m happy with what he’s doing.” Booker finished with 19 points, six rebounds, 11 assists and one steal in 40 minutes, though he was only 6 of 17 from the field.
Budenholzer was full of praise when it came to Durant. “He always wants to push us to win, always wants to push us to get better,” he said. Budenholzer also stressed that the goal of the SUNS is to try to reach the play-offs, the team has a lot of talent, but must win to achieve the goal.
In addition, Budenholzer also praised the Lakers guard Reeves. He said Reeves is one of the most underrated players in the league. In 39 minutes, Reeves had 28 points on 10-of-21 shooting, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 block, with a plus/minus score of +14.
In general, Budenholzer has his own opinion and evaluation of the team’s performance. He recognized Booker’s passing and playmaking skills, praised Durant’s desire to win and leadership, and also praised the Lakers’ Reeves. He believes that as long as the team continues to work hard, it will achieve better results in the future.
