Draymond: The team needs Kuminga back. He just needs to be himself

The Golden State Warriors trounced the Sacramento Kings 130-104 in an NBA regular-season matchup.

Draymond Green played 29 minutes as a starter for the Warriors, hitting 8 of 14 shots, including 4 of 7 3-pointers, to finish with 23 points, four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block. After the game, Draymond accepted an interview with the media, on the team’s recent developments and game performance, expressed his views.

On the return of Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond said that despite the Warriors’ recent good form, Kuminga’s return is still crucial to the team: “We need Kuminga back very much. He just needs to keep his style and do himself. It was good to see him back on the field and playing a good game, which is a good answer to all the doubts. It’s just one game, we’re not reading too much into it, but it’s what we expect to see.”

Draymond also revealed the “anxiety” of his teammates as they try to help Stephen Curry reach the 4,000 milestone for his career. He pointed specifically to the last pass of the first half as an example of how people were too eager to achieve this historic achievement for Curry at first, and instead seemed a little nervous. Later, Draymond further emphasized: “Kuminga’s quick push and breakthrough on the court has injected a new vitality into the Warriors. “With him and Jimmy, we have two players who can bring different running styles to the floor, and it adds more variety and flexibility to our system.”
