SAN Antonio Spurs player Mike Fox recently revealed to Spurs reporter Michael C-White the reason behind his finger surgery. Fox had to undergo surgery for a tendon injury in his left pinky finger, ending his season early.
In an interview, Fox said: “The injury to my left pinkie had a big impact on my game. I found myself losing my ability to dribble, catch, and shoot. If I had hurt my right pinkie, I would have played with it.”
Fox’s recovery from surgery is expected to be 12 weeks. In his 17 games this season, Fox is averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.3 blocks in 34 minutes per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the field, 27.4 percent from 3-point range and 81.9 percent from free throw range.
The Spurs are 27-37 and in 12th place in the Western Conference. Fox’s absence will undoubtedly bring some challenges to the team, but the Spurs will continue to work hard to achieve better results in the next game.
