Green led the team in scoring for the first time in nine years

The Golden State Warriors trounced the Sacramento Kings 130-104 in an NBA regular-season matchup. Draymond Green played well for the Warriors, finishing 8 of 14 from the field and 4 of 7 from 3-point range for a team-high and season-high 23 points, adding four rebounds, four assists and a block for a plus-12 rating. It was the first time Green led the team in scoring in a game since Game 7 of the 2016 Finals.

In the game 7 that decided the title, Green played heroically, shooting 11 of 15 from the field and 6 of 8 from 3-point range for a stunning 95.5% true shooting, scoring a game-high 32 points, while also providing 15 rebounds, nine assists and two steals, nearly pulling off a Finals triple-double.

Since that game, though, Green has continued to play well, starting 627 consecutive games for the Warriors (including the playoffs), but he hasn’t scored more points than any other player in a game. It is also a rare record in league history, second only to Mark Eaton’s 890 consecutive games without leading his team in points (combined NBA and ABA statistics) between 1983 and 1993.

Green’s outstanding performance in this game undoubtedly injected more confidence and motivation for the Warriors. His all-around ability and leadership qualities give fans hope that the Warriors will continue to do well in the future. I believe that with the joint efforts of Green and his teammates, the Warriors will continue to write their brilliant chapter in the future journey.
