Knicks player Hart spoke about Draymond Green’s comments to Towns in an interview. He said the team is trying to move on from the incident and had expected Green to apologize.
“I thought Towns handled it in a decent way,” Hart said. As a podcaster myself, I often encounter opinions and controversies. When I find I am wrong, I will own up to it. Therefore, I sincerely hope that Draymond can admit his mistake and apologize as I did. Apologizing is not something to be ashamed of, nor is it a sign of weakness or lack of manliness. I used to expect him to do that, but now it’s over and we can only look forward.”
Towns had missed the Knicks’ home loss to the Warriors for personal matters. Draymond Green said on his podcast that he heard Towns was trying to avoid a direct matchup with former teammate Butler. However, Downs himself later responded that the real reason for his absence was the death of his girlfriend’s relative, Sarah Holtzman, from cancer.
