The Bucks beat the Lakers 126-106 at home in the NBA regular season. Lillard was the standout performer for the Bucks, hitting 6 of 14 from the field, including 2 of 8 3-pointers and all 8 free throws, in 35 minutes for 22 points, six rebounds and 10 assists, along with two steals.
After the game, he spoke to the media. In the game, Lillard and teammate Simms had a wonderful combination that caused the attention of the fans. Lillard set up Simms for a dunk that showed the growing rapport between the two. On this point, Lillard shared a funny story about his relationship with Simms: “I asked him, ‘What do you like to be called? I don’t want to call you ‘Jerrijo’ every time. He said, ‘You can call me J-Rod or Jetman or something.’ But I told him I would never call you a flying man.” Simms also played well in the game, scoring four points, 11 rebounds and an assist in 18 minutes. Lillard won the game to finally usher in his first win over the Lakers since joining the Bucks, the Bucks have lost the previous two meetings.
