According to an update posted on Twitter by Warriors reporter Anthony Slater, the Warriors will miss tomorrow’s game against the Knicks because of a lower back strain. This will be the fourth straight game that Podziemski has missed. The Knicks, meanwhile, will be without their key player, Andrew Brunson.
Podziemski has appeared in 50 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 10.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.2 blocks in 25.4 minutes per game. He is shooting 42.7 per cent from the field, 31.9 per cent from 3-point range and 75.7 per cent from free throw range. Podziemski’s absence will no doubt have an impact on the Warriors’ depth and tactical execution.
And the Knicks, Brunson’s absence will also pose a challenge to their offensive end. Brunson has played in 61 games so far this season, averaging 26.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.1 blocks in 35.4 minutes per game while shooting 49.0 per cent from the field, 38.4 per cent from 3-point range and 82.5 per cent from free throw range. Brunson is an important point scorer and playmaker for the Knicks, and his absence will undoubtedly weaken the overall strength of the Knicks.
Although both teams are facing the absence of key players, the rest of the squad will still be going all out to try to do well in the tournament. Warriors-knicks matchups are always full of suspense and excitement, and fans are looking forward to seeing the best of both players on the court.
