The Cavaliers won a franchise-record 16 straight games and seven in double figures to beat the Grizzlies

The Cavaliers beat the Grizzlies 133-124 in today’s NBA regular season game, winning their 16th straight game, the longest winning streak in franchise history.

In the game, the Cavaliers played well as a whole, with seven players scoring in double figures. Mobley added 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Garland had a well-rounded performance with 20 points, nine assists and four steals. The Cavaliers were hot from beyond the arc, hitting 19 3-pointers and holding on to a 25-point road lead in a blowout victory over Memphis.

It is worth mentioning that because the Cavaliers have already locked up the playoff spot in advance, they began to let the core player Mitchell recuperate from injury, to prepare for the upcoming playoffs. However, this did not affect the overall strength of the Cavaliers, they can play well without Mitchell.

The Grizzlies, though Morant played well, finished with 44 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and set a personal season high in scoring, but still could not help the team to reverse the game. The rest of the Grizzlies were lacklustre offensively, unable to provide adequate support for Morant.

In the course of the game, the Cavaliers showed strong team strength and excellent tactical execution. They successfully opened the gap with the Grizzlies through accurate three-point shooting and efficient offensive coordination. Especially in the first half, the Cavaliers’ 3-point shooting was hot, and they scored 39 points in a single quarter, laying a solid foundation for the victory.

In addition, the Cavaliers have excelled on the defensive end. They managed to limit the tempo of the Grizzlies’ offence through tight defence and aggressive tackling. Especially in late games, when the Grizzlies tried to mount a comeback, the Cavaliers always responded in time to maintain the lead.

In the end, the Cavaliers were able to beat the Grizzlies without Mitchell and continue their winning streak. The victory not only gave the Cavaliers their longest winning streak in franchise history but also gave them a lot of confidence and expectations for the future playoffs.
