Atletico Fans’ Association: UEFA’s support for the cancellation of the spider’s goal is unacceptable

Atletico Fans’ Association condemns UEFA penalty! Atletico Madrid have been knocked out of the Champions League after a penalty kick by Alvaro Alvarez was disallowed for a second touch in the second leg of the quarterfinals. After the game, the fans’ association issued a statement demanding action from the club.

The statement is as follows:

We express our strong dissatisfaction with UEFA’s actions in supporting the VAR to cancel the effective goal of Julien Alvarez. The penalty seriously undermined the fairness of the game.

We regret to find that the club failed to adequately respond to the demands of the fans by not challenging the result of the match or initiating legal proceedings against the referee team for their misconduct and negligence.

As fans, our voices should be heard. However, in this serious matter, the club has neither convened a social committee nor consulted the legal representatives of the fans, which we cannot understand.

Therefore, we ask the clubs to act with the greatest enthusiasm and speed to remedy the damage and to stop UEFA’s misconduct and ensure the fair and equitable play of sports competitions.
