A crowd of 67,000 at the Metropolitan Stadium witnessed a thrilling match between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in the 28th round of La Liga. Atletico took a 2-0 lead, but Barcelona scored twice in six minutes to level the score, with goals from Yamal and Ferran Torres in stoppage time, and finally staged a comeback to beat Atletico 4-2 and return to the top of La Liga.
At the beginning of the game, Atletico’s defence was steady, three lines were compact and did not give Barca space to break through. Although Barcelona had the ball, it was difficult to find a good chance in Atletico’s tight defence. However, just 45 minutes into the game, the situation on the pitch suddenly changed. Pedrie sent a through ball and Lewan’s powerful left-foot shot flew off the line before Atletico took advantage of a fast attack and Alvarez pushed home the goal for a 1-0 lead.
