Bayern Munich has unveiled their 125th-anniversary kit, but the move has prompted questions from league rivals Augsburg. Augsburg posted a photo of Bayern’s new shirt on social media, suggesting that Bayern’s design had been copied.
A post on Augsburg’s official social media account read: “Hey Bayern, how does this look so familiar? Can you give us an explanation?” A detailed comparison of the two teams’ jerseys was attached. As can be seen from the picture, the two jerseys are dominated by dark red colour, gold team logo, brand logo and decorative patterns complement each other, and even the dark lines on the front of the jersey are very similar.
“My friend, it’s OK to copy your homework, but can you not copy it so obviously?” It is worth mentioning that Augsburg’s third shirt this season has been named the “Roman shirt”, aiming to commemorate the era of Augustus the Great, and its design is unique.
Previously, Bayern in the release of the commemorative jersey announcement said that the design inspiration comes from the club’s three homes, meaning “one club, one shirt, one home”, is the source of legend. Now, however, the shirt has been caught up in the plagiarism controversy, which is somewhat embarrassing.
