Bayern Munich have announced that defender Alfonso Davis has signed a contract extension until 30 June 2030.
The 24-year-old Canadian international has been playing for Bayern Munich since joining the club from Vancouver Whitechavers during the 2018/19 season and has gradually become one of the team’s key members.
Bayern’s sporting director Ebel is delighted with the signing of Afonso Davies’ new contract. He said: “Since joining Bayern at the age of 18, Alfonso has quickly integrated into the team and become one of the key members of the new generation. He has grown here and will continue to improve with the team in the future.”
Another sporting director, Freund, added: “In his position at Bayern, Alfonso Davis has developed into one of the best players in the world and attracted a lot of attention. He has chosen to stay here and continue to play with us, which shows the importance of Bayern Munich in international football. Alfonso has found his home in Munich.”
Alphonso-Davis himself is also very happy about the extension. He said: “When I joined Bayern at 18, my goal was to learn as much as I could every day and become one of the best players in my position. Today, I have achieved a lot, but I am looking forward to the journey of the next five years, and I know many more challenges and honours are waiting for me to achieve. I am delighted to extend my contract with this great club.”
