Barcelona are still planning to sell young striker Fati and could bring in a new winger to fill the void if he leaves, according to renowned football journalist Romano.
According to Romano, Barcelona’s plans for Fati remain the same as they were during the winter window and the club is actively looking for a suitable next home for him. Despite Fatti rejecting multiple transfer approaches in January and having the final say on his future, Barca remains open to selling him.
Faty’s current contract with Barcelona expires in the summer of 2027, but he has made few appearances this season. The 22-year-old Spanish striker has made just one start in eight appearances for Barcelona, his last coming as a substitute in the Copa de la Rey in early January. Such playing time does not meet the needs of a young player’s development and has prompted Barcelona to consider selling him.
The move comes after journalists reported that Fatti’s chances of leaving Barca were increasing, with clubs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar now being his potential next home. These clubs may offer Faty more appearances and a higher salary package to lure him to join.
For Barcelona, the sale of Fati will not only generate a certain transfer fee income but also free up salary space for the team to bring in more suitable players. If Faty leaves, Barcelona will be actively looking for a new winger in the transfer market to strengthen the team’s attacking strength.
