According to a new report from Sky Sports Germany’s Plettenberg, United are still interested in Dutch midfielder Xavi Simmons.
The Premier League giants are understood to be keeping a close eye on the Dutch talent and, as well as bringing in a striker, are also keen to sign a midfielder with a range of attacking skills.
However, United face a difficult problem – the price of Xavi Simmons is extremely high. While a move is not entirely out of the question, his current club Leipzig have priced him at 80 MILLION EUROS. It follows news that Leipzig’s future decisions will be closely linked to Champions League qualification. Should RB Leipzig fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, then it is likely that the club will consider selling Javi Simmons as a way to recoup the financial losses caused by missing out on European qualification.
It is worth mentioning that Harvey Simmons has been very good for Leipzig this season. He has played in 25 games, starting 24 of them, scoring eight goals and giving six assists.
United have also been eyeing other Bundesliga players, with Sheshko and Ekitic both in their sights,
