Sky Germany: Kovacs intends to sign a short-term contract with an option to renew, Dott will not accept

According to Sky Sports reporter Plettenberg in Germany, Niko Kovac is interested in becoming Borussia Dortmund’s new coach, and his management team has held preliminary talks with the club, but the two sides are still divided over the details of the contract.

Kovacs contract intentions:

Kovacic is expected to sign a short-term contract until the end of the season.

The contract will come with a one – or two-year renewal option to ensure more possibilities for future cooperation.

Dortmund’s attitude:

Dortmund seem unlikely to accept Kovacic’s terms for now.

The club are also looking at other candidates, such as former Berlin co-coach Joschka Fischer, to find the best fit for the team.

The Fisherian case:

Fischer has been one of the favourites to become the new boss of Borussia Dortmund following the departure of Sahin.

Fischer himself is looking forward to coaching Dortmund and is ready to do so.

He has even recently turned down coaching offers from a number of clubs, apparently waiting for the chance at Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund Current situation:

So far, Dortmund is 10th in the Bundesliga table with seven wins, four draws and seven losses.

The team has suffered four consecutive defeats in all competitions after the winter break and is in need of a manager who can lead the team out of trouble.

To sum up, Kovacic is interested in taking over as Dortmund coach and has put forward the desire to sign a short-term contract with an option to renew, but Dortmund are not willing to accept such a clause at present. At the same time, the club is also looking at other candidates to find the best fit for the team. Borussia Dortmund need a manager who can lead the team out of trouble. Let’s wait and see what happens.
